WHY SHADOW BOXING
“Shadow” is a term coined by Carl Jung to describe the unknown dark side of the personality. The repressed or denied parts of the Self. According to Jung, the shadow, in being instinctive and irrational, is prone to psychological projection, in which a perceived personal inferiority is recognized as a perceived moral deficiency in someone else.
The shadow is responsible for defensive and self-preserving instincts and is always selfish in nature. Left unattended, the shadow is by nature, benevolent and ravenous. Always seeking to sabotage and sacrifice something or someone for the sake of “survival”. This is acting VILLAINOUS. Instead we must subdue the shadow and seek to act from a place of character. This is when you act HEROIC, out of the true essence of who you are and what you stand for. With honour and humility, driven by love and not fear. Character and not shadow instinct.
With Shadow Boxing, we work on subduing the shadow as opposed to merely integrating it into your everyday life. Causing you to live out your purpose freely, with honour and humility. Never being held back by your shadow limitations.
HOW IT WORKS
Like a typical boxing match which consists of 12 rounds, Shadow Boxing is a 12 week programme consisting of a weekly 2hr session. It involves rigorous mental and physical training where we don’t even entertain the idea of “shadow integration”. We go to war with it!
